Or, how to become rich and powerful in 4 easy steps.

If you are a new (or old) player to WoW at some point you will discover that having money in game makes things a lot more fun. If you are trying to buy that new skill from your trainer or upgrade your equipment, things get expensive quick.

The problem with being a new player is that you are facing a population that has had a considerable amount of time developing their characters. In doing so, most players amass (and can replenish) an amount of gold that will dwarf your best efforts. Since they have a lot of spending cash (relative to you) the prices in the auction house will generally eclipse what you can afford.

There is some good news however! You can take advantage of the player inflation quite easily. What you want to do is acquire goods to sell on the auction house that these rich player need. Since high end equipment (loot or crafted) will be out of your reach for a long time, take a look into the professions.

You can forget the crafting skills for making money though. Until you reach high levels (very expensive and / or slow) you won’t be crafting much that will make you any money at all. In fact most crafting skills are serious money losers unless you put the effort into finding your own trade goods. And if you are going to bother doing that, you might as well make some actual money in the mean time.

Read on to learn about making money with the gathering skills.
