Oddcast SitePal

Here comes the weirdest DIY marketing tool I have seen. This was forwarded to me by a friend a while back. I took a look at it and though, "Um, hmm." And then he pointed out to me that you can upload your own audio files to the system. With that feature this becomes a sort of Max Headroom etch-a-sketch.

A nice tutorial on reading and writing files. Sections include file open, close, write, append, read and handling file uploads. Short and to the point - this is a very clear tutorial with clean examples.

Nice Webmaster Tools Page

Submitted by Alex Tabony on 6 September, 2005 - 7:08 pm

Digital Point has a great webmaster tools section. Most prominently it has a number of very useful tools for working on your search engine optimization. The full list of tools:

Google AdSense Charts, Google AdSense Sandbox, Back Link Tracking Tool, Coop Ad Network, DNS Zone Transfer, FileMaker Pro Web Digger, FileMaker Database Server Probe, Keyword Ranking Monitor, Keyword Suggestion Tool, PageRank Toolbar For Mac, Add Search Functionality To Your Website, Free Web Counter, Website To Country and Yahoo! Web Rank Tool.

Any webmaster will be able to find something useful at this site.

I have been using the back link tracker for some time and find it very interesting. The tools for the most part are simple to use, so go take a look.

Here is a cool site. Its a usage guide for Google. I didn't quite realize how much Google can do.

Unit Conversion I don't know how many times I have searched for a foreign money converter, or metric conversion chart.

Just type this in G Search.

Search books?

Check it out.

Custom Button Builder

Submitted by Alex Tabony on 3 September, 2005 - 7:07 pm

Websites that are driven through a CMS often have one or several buttons that allow the user to access the site's RSS feed (like this ) or add it to a news aggregation site (like this Add to My Yahoo!, or this Subscribe with Bloglines). If you, like me are not very talented with Photoshop, making these buttons can be a pain and / or the free ones you can find on the web are not quite what you want.

This site makes it easy. It has a simple web interface that produces an image based on your specifications. Try it out (free and no ads).
