"Embark on a quiet adventure and watch wildlife gather at Pete's Pond. Baby baboons scurry in the dust. Wildebeests push and shove to make room at the watering hole. Warthogs wallow in the mud."

There are some cool video highlights linked there as well.

Guide to Better Photos: Post-Processing

I have had a digital camera for several years now. In that time I have learned very little about post processing. However it is something that has always be of great interest. I have seen my photographer friend take a so-so image and turn it into something good.

So I was very happy to find this practical article at Anand Tech on post processing. It covers a lot of basic info that I just didn't know. This guide uses Photoshop Elements / CS but the ideas could be applied with any graphics processing program.

Finally an IM that I might like?! Instant messaging, email and telephony (even if they don't call it that).

Wonderful Disturbing Fun, Um, Game, Site, Thing

I am not sure if this is considered a game or not exactly. It's got a girl, ragdoll physics and balls. A friend terms it, "The Best Useless Site".

Drag her with your mouse when she gets stuck.

Artificial Island!

Submitted by Alex Tabony on 16 September, 2005 - 7:16 pm

This is pretty wild. Possibly since I never watch TV I never heard about this, but it is pretty amazing to me. Of the coast of the United Arab Emirates they are terraforming a series of islands. It is all ultra-wealthy playground non-sense of course, but it is pretty cool.

This site has some info about the project. There are several videos to watch of CG flyby promotional stuff.

Here you can see a series of time lapse aerial photos showing the construction progress.

Reminds me of Populous II!
